Tore is a diversification addition to our herd. We’ve retained some of the really nice quality Fjords that we’ve produced, which makes breeding pairings difficult in the future as we try to avoid inbreeding and line breeding. Thus, we occasionally need to add outside genetics.
He is a white dun (AA EE NCr DD) Fjord colt that we are currently evaluating as a potential herd sire. Pedigree.

He arrived as a weanling in January 2025 and promptly received a haircut.

Tore initially spent some time in the foal training area, for him to adjust to us, and us to him.

Tore (center in this photo) spent summer 2025 with our other yearlings, Sunnev (red dun, to left), Febra (white dun), and Snohette (white dun, to right). These yearlings all had nice forelocks until they got full of burs and broke the hair off by rubbing on trees. Tore measured just over 12.3 hands (130 cm) in November 2025 (1.5 years old). Sunnev measured 141 cm, Snohette 133 cm, and Febra 131 cm.

Tore is second from right here, spending winter 2025 to 2026 with our mare herd. He was born and raised to weaning age with his dam and a young playmate, so I kept him with our yearlings and mares during his first year here, to help him learn social skills that are best provided by a big herd. That time, and the influence of the herd, has changed his interaction with us humans, for the positive.
