We have a really nice set of high quality NFHR-registered Fjords available from 2026, some yearlings available from 2025 (scroll past the weanlings) and some older Fjords. Prices are at the end of the descriptions. As horses go under contract, I will shift their information to the Fjords Under Contract page of the website.
I will add a selection of photos for each foal to their names below, but for now, the Won Der Fjords Facebook page is the best place to find labeled photos of each foal and mare. Send me a Facebook friend request to see the bulk of the posted images and videos. I don’t post much publicly.
We have 5 weanlings available, 4 yearlings, 1 two year old and 2 retiring broodmares. Below is a comparison chart, ordered from tallest to shortest anticipated mature height. Below the chart, each individual is described in greater detail, with the foals first, then yearlings, then older horses.

Monar, day of birth

Monar has a nice dark dorsal stripe and ear tips, plus was born with visible leg bars, so he will likely have bold stripes like his mother.

2025 Yearlings Available:
1dr Finnr
- Colt
- DOB: 5/25/2025
- NFHR pedigree
- Sire: Kjor Hunter (Sire imported from Norway, Dam imported from Germany)
- Dam: 1dr Moena (out of Double C Lilli by 1dr Ragnvald).
- Color genetics: White dun that carries grey (Aa EE NCr DD).
- Anticipated mature height: 14.0-14.1 hands.
- Suitable for: Breeding, dressage, jumping, working equitation, speed events
- Temperament: This colt is energetic, smart, and seeks attention. He is happy to do what’s asked of him and enjoys time with people who are comfortable handling average horses. He’s not as naturally calm as many of our Fjords, but he’s not a highly reactive type either.
- Additional attributes: Finnr matured really early, and could have bred mares as early as 10 months old. He nearly succeeded in breeding a 2 year old filly in April 2026. Most Fjord colts don’t mature that soon. Both testicles were down at birth and are big for his age. This colt is very typie, of medium bone and muscle, moves beautifully, has a gorgeous head with thick long forelock, very correct legs, excellent neck set, balanced body parts, strong loin, excellent hoof structure, and a beautiful white coat with a thick dorsal stripe in the mane and tail. He would be a great breeding stallion for producing performance Fjords, and will be an eager and energetic performance gelding if the new owner prefers a gelding.
- Training: Finnr is easy to catch, stands tied, picks up feet loose in the pasture, enjoys his mane trimming and grooming, he loads in trailers and has been trailered 4 times.
- Price: $5,500. Will increase once he returns from driving training.
- More Finnr photos at this link.

Finnr is a character. This dog food bag blew into the winter paddock and he proceeded to desensitize the other horses by picking it up in his teeth and flapping it around.

1dr Sylvi
- Filly
- DOB: 6/22/2025
- NFHR pedigree
- Sire: SOS Rurik (red dun stallion, currently a herd sire in Canada)
- Dam: 1dr Gylda (out of Short Creek’s Amber by Valea’s Vesle, both Canadian imports).
- Color genetics: dark Brown dun that carries grey and red (Aa Ee DD).
- Anticipated mature height: 14.0 hands.
- Suitable for: Breeding, dressage, jumping, working equitation, speed events
- Temperament: This filly is energetic, smart, and seeks attention. She is happy to do what’s asked of her and enjoys time with people who are comfortable handling average horses. She’s not as naturally calm as many of our Fjords, but she’s not a highly reactive type either.
- Additional attributes: Sylvi has medium bone and is going to be a gorgeous performance mare that can produce all the Fjord colors in her offspring if used for breeding. She has a beautiful hip, head, neck, body balance, legs and hooves, and movement. Her sire and dam have outstanding work ethics and she has the same. She has a very light responsiveness to a nylon halter and easily gives hips and shoulders on the ground. She will have a thick long forelock like both of her parents. She has 2 Njal spots on each cheek, which is one of the desirable primitive marks in the breed standard. She will make an outstanding broodmare that can be used for versatile disciplines. We have her mother Gylda and her half sister Febra as part of our mare herd. We also have Gylda’s full sister Bekke, and Bekke’s daughter Ilsa in the mare herd. Ragnvald is Sylvi’s paternal uncle (paternal brother to Gylda and Bekke).
- Training: Sylvi is easy to catch, leads well, stands tied, picks up feet loose in the pasture, enjoys her mane trimming and grooming, she loads in trailers and has been trailered 4 times.

- Color genetics: dark Brown dun that carries grey and red (Aa Ee DD).
- Anticipated mature height: 14.2 hands.
- Suitable for: Breeding, dressage, jumping, working equitation, speed events, draft competitions, logging.
- Temperament: This filly is energetic, smart, and seeks attention. She is happy to do what’s asked of her and enjoys time with people who are comfortable handling average horses. She’s not as naturally calm as many of our Fjords, but she’s not a highly reactive type either. She reminds me a lot of her sire, who is very obedient but really likes to GO when we are riding or driving.

She moves beautifully, has the presence of her grandsire Ragnvald, has excellent hooves and legs, nice balance of body parts and her darker body color is so attractive. She will have a thick long forelock like both of her parents. She will make an outstanding broodmare and powerhouse for whatever versatile discipline you want to do with a horse.

1dr Kallan
- Colt
- DOB: 6/18/2026
- NFHR pedigree
- Sire: SOS Rurik (red dun stallion, currently a herd sire in Canada)
- Dam: Double C Gracelyn
- Color genetics: dark Grey (grulla) that carries red (aa Ee DD).
- Anticipated mature height: 14.3 hands.
- Suitable for: Breeding, dressage, jumping, working equitation, speed events
- Temperament: Kallan is energetic, smart, and seeks attention. He is happy to do what’s asked of him and enjoys time with people who are comfortable handling average horses. He’s not as naturally calm as many of our Fjords, but he’s not a highly reactive type either. He loves deep muscle rubs and to be hugged. He is very easy and willing.
- Additional attributes: Kallan has a gorgeous head, balanced shorter-coupled body structure of medium bone, long legs, nice neck set, nicely rounded croup, excellent hooves, nice movement and typie structure. He will stay here as a breeding stallion if he’s not purchased. We have retained a lot of his mother’s relatives for breeding, and Kallan would definitely have been added to the broodmare herd if he had been born a filly. As a quality colt, his rare height and dark grey body, bold stripes, with recessive red color combination is hard to find among available Fjords in the breed these days, and we have a good number of mares that aren’t related to him, so we are firm on his price.
- Training: Kallan is easy to catch, stands tied, picks up feet loose in the pasture, enjoys his mane trimming and grooming, he loads in trailers and has been trailered 4 times.
- Price: $12,000

Tore as a yearling

3 year olds: none available at this time
Adult Mares:
Double C Lilli will be available for $15,000 this fall, as a 15 year old retired broodmare. She’s trained to ride and drive, is a therapeutic-quality Fjord that would do great as a trail and pleasure horse too. She can be sold bred to 1dr Ragnvald if the buyer would like one more foal from her.
Double C Nora will be available for $5,500 this fall, as a 20 year old retired broodmare. She’s trained to ride and drive, and is suitable for low intensity work, with a rider/driver who is not a complete novice. She can be sold bred to Kjor Hunter if the buyer would like one more foal from her.
Adult Stallions:
1dr Audun is a gorgeous 7 year old drafty brown dun stallion that is now available from his current owner, who is getting out of breeding. He drives and can be gelded. We have his full sister, 1dr Sejline in our broodmare herd. We also have many other relatives (Nora-half sister, Greta-niece, Lucy-niece, Raisa-cousin, Viska and Vindkast-cousin’s kids, Sunnev-cousin). Contact Audun’s owner directly for more details (info at this link to his sale page).

Adult Geldings: none available at this time
All of these Fjords have been born and raised on diverse green forage for optimal nutrition, in a herd for excellent social development, in pastures 24/7 with varied terrain and steep hills where they regularly full-out gallop, which is optimal for development of bone density and sound physical growth, and in pastures shared with dogs, goats and sheep for development of cautious movement when small animals are underfoot. They all receive and enjoy daily human interaction and have learned to trust humans from day one. I do all of their pre-weaning training at liberty with the herd in the pasture, which builds a strong foundation of trust while giving me temperament and trainability insights into each foal that could not be so easily assessed if not at liberty. They are NFHR registered and microchipped, and will be skilled at basic ground/halter/load/tie/trim skills before heading to new homes around 6 months old. They will be weaned with a group of foals they’ve grown up with, and come with a fitted halter and lead rope.
A signed contract for purchase with 25% down payment holds the foal until it’s ready to go at 6 months old. Payments can be made over that time and I don’t expect you to carry insurance on the foal. Contact me through Facebook messenger or through the website contact form if you’re interested in a foal.
You can find many more pictures and videos of these foals on my Won Der Fjords Facebook page. Go to the profile, friend me, and click the search magnifying glass to search within my profile. Type in the name of any particular foal. I’ve labeled all the photos so the search function will bring them up for friends. The date they were posted or labeled can be used to determine their age in the photo.
I don’t chase folks, and don’t consider a foal under contract until a signed contract with deposit is received, so if you’re serious about one of these foals, please don’t delay with your intentions.
I will remove names from the above lists once that Fjord is under contract.
Since we want foals to be placed well, we don’t sell foals in utero. Pedigree is not as important as who the foal actually is, what combo of traits it inherited, for suitability for any new home. Over 3 decades of breeding and over 200 Fjords owned/managed/bred has given me this insight. Fjords are not inbred enough for full siblings to be very similar in traits. I assess each foal in its first few months of life and post them for sale once I’ve learned what traits that foal inherited and can advertise them accordingly.

1dr Stigandr, sold
Asking price: $5,500
Anticipated height: 14.0-14.1 hh
Color genetics: AA Ee NN (brown dun carrying red)
Sex: colt
Stigander is a hoot. This boy has so much character, and simply loves to be in the middle of everything. His structure is beautiful, upheaded, balanced, and he’s stunning as he motors around the pasture and seeking all the attention from whoever shows up. He is bold and quick to learn, very versatile type with medium structure. He’d be great for pleasure, performance, and/or breeding. He is halter trained, loads and travels well in the trailer, picks up feet loose in the pasture, stands tied, is very agreeable with all temperaments of horses in the herd, and is eager to greet human visitors and be haltered.

1dr Levald, sold
Asking price: $6,500
Anticipated height: 14.1 hh
Color genetics: AA Ee NN (brown dun carrying red), dark shade with nice leg bars
Sex: colt
Levald is a very typie boy with correct structure, will be drafty, moves beautifully, and would make an outstanding performance Fjord in dressage, or a working draft horse on a farm. He would have been retained as a breeding prospect in my prior years of Fjord breeding, but we already have MANY of his relatives in our current herd.

1dr Steina, sold
Asking price: $6,500
Anticipated height: 14.0-14.1 hh
Color genetics: AA EE NN, brown dun
Sex: Filly
Steina is a drafty beauty who inherited the best traits of both of her parents. She’s so balanced and moves so effortlessly, with her sire’s upheaded presence. She would make a great performance mare, broodmare, or draft horse.

1dr Nea, sold
Asking price: $7,500
Anticipated height: 14.1-14.3 hh
Color genetics: AA Ee NN (brown dun carrying red)
Sex: Filly
Nea combines our Gracelyn lines, Elko size and calmness, and Ragnvald’s typie presence with balanced structure and eye-catching movement. Nea will be medium thickness, tall, elegant and suited to performance. Her natural temperament is easy, friendly, trusting and medium energy, so she would do well for pleasure, therapy or breeding uses too. This is a filly I would love to keep, but we don’t have the pasture space.

1dr Ronje, sold
Asking price: $6,500
Anticipated height: 14.2-14.3 hh
Color genetics: AA Ee NN (brown dun carrying red)
Sex: Filly
We really love our Gracelyn daughters, and this one is no exception. She will be a tall, elegant medium-thickness mare that would be beautiful and suited to a performance or breeding home.

1dr Unnerje, sold
Asking price: $7,500
Anticipated height: 14.1-14.2 hh
Color genetics: Aa EE NN (brown dun carrying grey)
Sex: Filly
Unnerje would be retained if we had the space and didn’t already have her half siblings Mathis and Stenetta, plus loads of other relatives in the herd. She’s a granddaughter of Gracelyn and really inherited the best traits of her parents. She is typie, loves attention, is naturally level-headed and would do well in a therapy, trail, pleasure driving, or broodmare home. Her structure and movement make her suited to easily doing higher level performance work too. She will be medium-thickness for muscling.

1dr Haarik, sold
Asking price: $6,500
Anticipated height: 14.0-14.1 hh
Color genetics: Aa EE NN (brown dun carrying grey)
Sex: Colt
Parents: Sejline (Alma x Elko) x Hunter
Haarik is a beautifully built, friendly, beautifully moving medium structure colt that combines our Elko and Alma lines in the herd with Hunter. I really like this combo. His full brother is a therapy gelding and has served in that role since he was a weanling; outstanding temperament. Haarik is a little more energetic than his brother, but has so many of the same characteristics. He would be great for therapy, trail, pleasure driving, or breeding home. His structure and movement make him suited to easily doing higher level performance work too.

1dr Fjolnir, sold
Asking price: $7,500
Anticipated height: 14.2-14.3 hh
Color genetics: AA Ee NN (brown dun carrying red)
Sex: Colt
Parents: Eileen (Gracelyn x Elko) x Ragnvald
Fjolnir is my pick of the 2024 colts, if we were retaining one. He’s such a great combination of the best traits of both parents and is going to be a really big, eye-catching Fjord. He’s super friendly, has medium-heavy structure, moves wonderfully, and is very typie. He would be great for breeding, therapy, trail, pleasure driving, or performance.
