She has a very light responsiveness to a nylon halter and easily gives hips and shoulders on the ground. She will have a thick long forelock like both of her parents. Additional attributes: Kallan has a gorgeous head, balanced shorter-coupled body structure of medium bone, long legs, nice neck set, nicely rounded croup, excellent hooves, nice movement and typie structure. He will stay here as a breeding stallion if he’s not purchased. We have retained a lot of his mother’s relatives for breeding, and Kallan would definitely have been added to the broodmare herd if he had been born a filly. As a quality colt, his rare height and dark grey body, bold stripes, with recessive red color combination is hard to find among available Fjords in the breed these days, and we have a good number of mares that aren’t related to him, so we are firm on his price.

I’ve been wanting a white dun filly from our 20 year old mare Nora, that has this filly’s traits, so she is priced high, and if she doesn’t sell, we will make room for her in the broodmare herd by selling one of the adult mares the year that Gwynn turns 3 years old. Nora grows mane longer, faster and with more durable strands than any of our other Fjords, so I’ve let her mane grow long so I can harvest the hairs for making brushes for the church. She is the only Fjord in our herd that we don’t keep the mane trimmed short. I’m hopeful that Gwynn will inherit the super thick and long mane and forelock of both of her parents. Time will tell.
