This handsome grey colt is a son of our 15 hand mare Gracelyn and the dark red dun stallion, SOS Rurik, who is now a breeding stallion in Canada. Kallan is medium in type with a nice dark shade of grey, a harmonious balance of parts with nice movement, he carries red, and should mature 14.2 hands plus. I’m looking forward to breeding him to our mares that could benefit from his height, shorter coupling, nice head, and pleasing movement.

I’ve loved the foals from Rurik, and Gracelyn’s daughters in our herd are wonderful mares, so keeping a son of Gracelyn to spread more of these genes among the offspring of our unrelated mares makes a lot of sense for our breeding goals. If he sells before we use him for breeding, that’s okay with us too.

• Temperament: Kallan is energetic, smart, and seeks attention. He is happy to do what’s asked of him and enjoys time with people who are comfortable handling average horses. He’s not as naturally calm as many of our Fjords, but he’s not a highly reactive type either. He loves deep muscle rubs and to be hugged. He is very easy and willing.
• Additional attributes: Kallan has a gorgeous head, balanced shorter-coupled body structure of medium bone, long legs, nice neck set, nicely rounded croup, excellent hooves, nice movement and typie structure. He will stay here as a breeding stallion if he’s not purchased. We have retained a lot of his mother’s relatives for breeding, and Kallan would definitely have been added to the broodmare herd if he had been born a filly. As a quality colt, his rare height and dark grey body, bold stripes, with recessive red color combination is hard to find among available Fjords in the breed these days, and we have a good number of mares that aren’t related to him, so we are firm on his price.
• Training: Kallan is easy to catch, stands tied, picks up feet loose in the pasture, enjoys his mane trimming and grooming, he loads in trailers and has been trailered 4 times.
• Kallan will be sent off for driving training in fall 2026 and his price will then increase.
