Rurik is a dark red dun stallion that carries grey (Aa ee NN DD). At 5 years old he measured 14.0 1/2 hands tall with 8.25″ (22.5 cm) cannon bones. He produced 20 foals for us, and since we retained his son, 1dr Mathis, as a breeding stallion, and 2 of his daughters for broodmares (1dr Stenetta, 1dr Sunnev), we decided to offer him to another breeder. He is now a Canadian!
We bought Rurik as a weanling and raised him here. Like all of our Fjord stallions, he was a wonderful, sweet, and easy to manage boy. Here he’s sharing his hay with the wooly sheep.
Rurik’s movement is beautiful, and he passed that on to so many of his foals, along with his really handsome head and dark body shade.
Rurik was a breeze for the trainer for both riding and driving training. That’s exactly what I like from the Fjords we choose to breed. His foals have been very easy for me to train for baby basics also.
