Koryn is one of our more performance-type mares, in structure and movement, but she fits well in our herd with her sweet and easy temperament. The quality of her foals is outstanding, which is why we’ve retained her son Mathis as a breeding stallion, and her daughter Stenetta as a broodmare.

At 5 years old, Koryn measured 149 cm tall (just under 14.3 hands). Her dam is 15 hands (Double C Gracelyn) and her sire is 14 hands (1dr Kjaman). Gracelyn’s side is where the height comes into this pedigree, with her sire (Kjor Jodas, from the tall Kjor Uffda line) being 14.3 hands and her dam being 14.2 hands (Double C Vanilla).

Koryn in 2018 as a yearling

Koryn in 2017; she is definitely one of the golden ones at the end of the rainbow. We had placed her for sale when she was a foal, but nobody chose her, so we retained her and are so happy things worked out that way!
As a foal, Koryn was often seen jumping thistles, burdock clumps, and logs in our pasture and woods. She simply loved sailing over obstacles. Many of her foals have inherited that joy for athletic expression.

Koryn was born in 2017, here on our Dodgeville, WI farm. We purchased her dam, Double C Gracelyn, and we leased Gracelyn’s sire, Kjor Jodas for breeding, so these generational lines are deep in our herd and management. Koryn’s sire, Kjaman, is a stallion we produced from our best therapy-type mare, Maggie Lane’s Brita, and from a stallion we purchased, Shome Didrik. Koryn’s performance abilities likely came down the generations from her great grandsire, Gingard.
