We have a really nice selection of high quality NFHR-registered Fjords available this year. I’ve grouped them by categories below, for easier narrowing of the options for folks who are looking for particular traits in a future Fjord. Prices are at the end of the descriptions.
I will add a selection of photos for each foal to their names below, but for now, the Won Der Fjords Facebook page is the best place to find labeled photos of each foal and mare. Send me a friend request to see the bulk of the posted images and videos.

Very bold: Sira.
Bold: Sylvi.
Moderate boldness: Ellisif, Kallan, Elvin.
Foals that I categorize as very bold will confidently walk up to strange things that are a bit scary for our foals with moderate boldness. The moderate boldness individuals will stand and watch a new thing intently for a while before approaching and investigating. This is all relative to other Fjords I’ve experienced, and doesn’t relate to this characteristic in other breeds. I had a very timid Arabian in my early life who would spin and run away from new things. She would be about 5 levels below the ‘moderate boldness’ category of our Fjords. The individuals above with moderate boldness simply need a handler that can let them work through the new things and move to the next level when the horse is ready. They will be wonderful for a horse-aware handler, but I wouldn’t put them in a therapy program or with a rider lacking confidence.
Loves all people: Ellisif, Sira, Sylvi.

None of these Fjords has needed any kind of medical intervention (no drugs, hormones, plasma, antibiotics, chemicals, procedures, assistance birthing, assistance nursing, etc), for themselves nor for their dam, from conception to present time. They’re naturally healthy, have been born and raised on diverse green forage for optimal nutrition, in a herd for excellent social development, in pastures 24/7 with varied terrain and steep hills for optimal bone density and physical development, and in pastures shared with dogs, goats and sheep for development of cautious movement when small animals are underfoot. They all receive and enjoy daily human interaction and have learned to trust humans from day one. I do all of their pre-weaning training at liberty with the herd in the pasture, which builds a strong foundation of trust while giving me temperament and trainability insights into each foal that could not be so easily assessed if not at liberty. They are NFHR registered and microchipped, and will be skilled at basic ground/halter/load/tie/trim skills before heading to new homes around 6 months old. They will be weaned with a group of foals they’ve grown up with, and come with a fitted halter and lead rope.
A signed contract for purchase with 25% down payment holds the foal until it’s ready to go at 6 months old. Payments can be made over that time and I don’t expect you to carry insurance on the foal. Contact me through Facebook messenger or through the website contact form if you’re interested in a foal.
You can find many more pictures and videos of these foals on my Won Der Fjords Facebook page. Go to the profile, friend me, and click the search magnifying glass to search within my profile. Type in the name of any particular foal. I’ve labeled all the photos so the search function will bring them up for friends. The date they were posted or labeled can be used to determine their age in the photo.
I don’t chase folks, and don’t consider a foal under contract until a signed contract with deposit is received, so if you’re serious about one of these foals, please don’t delay with your intentions.
I will remove names from the above lists once that Fjord is under contract.
Since we want foals to be placed well, we don’t sell foals in utero. Pedigree is not as important as who the foal actually is, what combo of traits it inherited, for suitability for any new home. Over 3 decades of breeding and over 200 Fjords owned/managed/bred has given me this insight. Fjords are not inbred enough for full siblings to be very similar in traits. I assess each foal in its first few months of life and post them for sale once I’ve learned what traits that foal inherited and can advertise them accordingly.

1dr Stigandr, sold
Asking price: $5,500
Anticipated height: 14.0-14.1 hh
Color genetics: AA Ee NN (brown dun carrying red)
Sex: colt
Stigander is a hoot. This boy has so much character, and simply loves to be in the middle of everything. His structure is beautiful, upheaded, balanced, and he’s stunning as he motors around the pasture and seeking all the attention from whoever shows up. He is bold and quick to learn, very versatile type with medium structure. He’d be great for pleasure, performance, and/or breeding. He is halter trained, loads and travels well in the trailer, picks up feet loose in the pasture, stands tied, is very agreeable with all temperaments of horses in the herd, and is eager to greet human visitors and be haltered.

1dr Levald, sold
Asking price: $6,500
Anticipated height: 14.1 hh
Color genetics: AA Ee NN (brown dun carrying red), dark shade with nice leg bars
Sex: colt
Levald is a very typie boy with correct structure, will be drafty, moves beautifully, and would make an outstanding performance Fjord in dressage, or a working draft horse on a farm. He would have been retained as a breeding prospect in my prior years of Fjord breeding, but we already have MANY of his relatives in our current herd.

1dr Steina, sold
Asking price: $6,500
Anticipated height: 14.0-14.1 hh
Color genetics: AA EE NN, brown dun
Sex: Filly
Steina is a drafty beauty who inherited the best traits of both of her parents. She’s so balanced and moves so effortlessly, with her sire’s upheaded presence. She would make a great performance mare, broodmare, or draft horse.

1dr Nea, sold
Asking price: $7,500
Anticipated height: 14.1-14.3 hh
Color genetics: AA Ee NN (brown dun carrying red)
Sex: Filly
Nea combines our Gracelyn lines, Elko size and calmness, and Ragnvald’s typie presence with balanced structure and eye-catching movement. Nea will be medium thickness, tall, elegant and suited to performance. Her natural temperament is easy, friendly, trusting and medium energy, so she would do well for pleasure, therapy or breeding uses too. This is a filly I would love to keep, but we don’t have the pasture space.

1dr Ronje, sold
Asking price: $6,500
Anticipated height: 14.2-14.3 hh
Color genetics: AA Ee NN (brown dun carrying red)
Sex: Filly
We really love our Gracelyn daughters, and this one is no exception. She will be a tall, elegant medium-thickness mare that would be beautiful and suited to a performance or breeding home.

1dr Unnerje, sold
Asking price: $7,500
Anticipated height: 14.1-14.2 hh
Color genetics: Aa EE NN (brown dun carrying grey)
Sex: Filly
Unnerje would be retained if we had the space and didn’t already have her half siblings Mathis and Stenetta, plus loads of other relatives in the herd. She’s a granddaughter of Gracelyn and really inherited the best traits of her parents. She is typie, loves attention, is naturally level-headed and would do well in a therapy, trail, pleasure driving, or broodmare home. Her structure and movement make her suited to easily doing higher level performance work too. She will be medium-thickness for muscling.

1dr Haarik, sold
Asking price: $6,500
Anticipated height: 14.0-14.1 hh
Color genetics: Aa EE NN (brown dun carrying grey)
Sex: Colt
Parents: Sejline (Alma x Elko) x Hunter
Haarik is a beautifully built, friendly, beautifully moving medium structure colt that combines our Elko and Alma lines in the herd with Hunter. I really like this combo. His full brother is a therapy gelding and has served in that role since he was a weanling; outstanding temperament. Haarik is a little more energetic than his brother, but has so many of the same characteristics. He would be great for therapy, trail, pleasure driving, or breeding home. His structure and movement make him suited to easily doing higher level performance work too.

1dr Fjolnir, sold
Asking price: $7,500
Anticipated height: 14.2-14.3 hh
Color genetics: AA Ee NN (brown dun carrying red)
Sex: Colt
Parents: Eileen (Gracelyn x Elko) x Ragnvald
Fjolnir is my pick of the 2024 colts, if we were retaining one. He’s such a great combination of the best traits of both parents and is going to be a really big, eye-catching Fjord. He’s super friendly, has medium-heavy structure, moves wonderfully, and is very typie. He would be great for breeding, therapy, trail, pleasure driving, or performance.
